Dick was an avid fan of The Ohio State University football program. He had a room in his house decorated in Scarlet and Gray, except for the en suite toilet seat, which was Maize and Blue. When John Cooper was coach, Dick was afraid that he would die before Ohio State achieved another national championship. Coach Jim Tressel finally delivered the goods in 2002.
